Tally Ho Tilt-Jumping Horse Balance Model

Tally Ho Tilt is inspired by the pageantry and tradition of classic equestrian sport. With horse and rider captured mid-jump, the figure reflects the energy, precision and partnership at the heart of countryside riding.

Dressed in traditional sporting attire, the rider evokes the heritage of British equestrian culture — where horsemanship, discipline and balance are paramount. The poised form of the horse suggests motion suspended in a single dynamic moment.

Handcrafted from metal in a traditional blacksmith’s workshop, each balance model is individually cut, formed, assembled and carefully hand-painted. The carefully weighted pendulum base allows horse and rider to rock in a smooth, controlled motion; as the piece moves, the horse’s head and tail shift subtly while the rider’s head and arms respond in rhythm, as though rising and settling over a fence. The movement captures the cadence of a jump before gradually returning to equilibrium, honouring the historic craft of mechanical balancing toys.

Produced in small batches, subtle variations in finish and brushwork are the natural marks of true handcraft, making each piece quietly distinctive and collectable.
