Tally Ho Tilt is a handmade metal horse and rider caught mid-jump, the rider in red hunt coat, cream jodhpurs and black riding hat, the horse stretched over the fence. Balanced on a hidden counterweight, the pair rock in a smooth, steady motion at the lightest touch. As they move, the horse's head and tail shift while the rider rises and settles in the saddle, exactly like the rhythm of a proper jump, before returning to rest.

Each piece is cut, shaped, assembled and hand-painted in a traditional blacksmith's workshop, in the spirit of the painted tinplate balancing toys of the Victorian and Edwardian nursery. Made in small batches, so no two are exactly the same, the little differences in the brushwork are the mark of proper handmade work.
